West Papuan Students Arrested & Tortured in Jogyakart-Indonesia by Polices & Islamic Radical Organization

Obi Kogoya was arrested and Tortured by Indonesian Police in Jogjakarta, Indonesia on July 15th 2016

On this day Friday, July 15th, 2016 around 7:00-am, polices along with reactionary groups surrounded and blockaded the West Papuan students dormitory at  Kamasan I. No one was allowed in or out.

Even Papuan students out to buy food caught by the polices. Currently there are about 100 people over Papuan students trapped inside the dormitory  who need solidarity, especially logistical assistance.
The attitude of the police was greatly exaggerated and clearly violate of human rights. In addition, the deployment of troops to attacted and repressive polices action against Papuan students themselves need to be questioned.

In addition to the constitutional struggle silence Papuan students, these repressive measures build stereotypes to discriminate against students on the basis of Papua either racist, actions, views, with the purpose of concealing human rights abuses committed by the polices. This action also triggered social conflicts between Papuan students and  Jogjakarta civilians due to discrimination built structurally by officials in Jogyakarta.

The attitude and approach towards Papuan student officers and human rights struggle is a constitutional right since the beginning of 2016 to today's increasingly make the situation in Jogyakarta is not quiet. The more troubling the people of Jogyakarta as well as making the polices image of protectors and law enforcement to be bad for allowing social conflicts based discrimination and racist in Jogyakarta

Jogyakarta is expected that all citizens unite to save the democratic space comfortable without discrimination in the Yogyakarta area. Do not let the officers who are not professionals use state apparatus to create discrimination in Jogyakarta. Discrimination and racism is a disease in diversity.
